DO NOW In your notebook under the REFLECTIONS SECTION, respond to the following prompt using the TREAT format. (Ten minutes for a participation grade.)
PROMPT What is one of the most important things you have learned in summer school so far?
SAMPLE RESPONSE
One of the most important things I have learned in summer school so far is how to write a solid introduction paragrpah for a five paragraph essay. This is because I really didn't understand how important a good introduction paragrpah is in order to write a good essay. For example, I never wrote intro paragraphs in the past. I just started writing. Including an introductory paragraph helps me organize my thoughts and the essay itself and makes my writing more "professional". I am really glad I learned how to write a solid intro paragraph and will continue to do so from now on.
LEARNING TARGETS
I can demonstrate my understanding of how to write an evidence based claim.
Work Time
1. Finish your exam from yesterday.
2. Read Swallowing Stones. There will be a quiz on chapters 3-4 on Monday!
